Sounds Of A Tired City #58: Monadh

September 6, 2016

Behind the mysterious Monadh moniker you can discover Jake Muir, a sound artist and zealous field recordist working in Seattle, Washington. He creates works from samples (typically old vinyl) and field recordings, with an emphasis on mood and place. This source material is all manipulated via digital means. Jake is about having his first solo album ‘Muara’ released on Further Records (out on September 9), so there is no better timing to host his spellbinding guest mix. According to Jake, this is what you should expect: “I’ve been listening to a lot of contemporary “psychedelic” music recently, so I put together a smorgasbord of some of the more weird and trippy tracks in my collection.”
